The Executive Committee

The Alumni Association is guided an Executive Committee, which serves as an advisory committee. The Committee is dedicated to developing programs and activities of interest to alumni, and to developing a strong alumni base. The following members are currently serving on the Executive Committee:

• Mr Tylvas Amunjela - Chairperson and Council Representative

Mr Amunjela obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in 2006. He was elected for as Chairperson of the association, as well as representative of the body on UNAM Council. He is currently employed at Smartswitch as System Administrator.

• Ms Naita Awene- Deputy Chairperson

Ms Awene obtained his Bachelor of Economics degree in 1998. She was elected as Deputy Chairperson and is currently a lecturer at the University of Namibia.

• Mr Moses Moses- UNAM Council Representative

Mr Moses obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in 2005. He is an ordinary member of the Executive Committee, and was also elected as representative of the association on UNAM Council. He is currently studying towards a MSc in Biodiversity at UNAM.

• Vacant - Treasurer

• Mr Linus Hamunyela

Mr Hamunyela obtained his Bachelor of Economics degree in 1999. He is based at the Northern Campus of the University where works as a Communication Officer.

• Ms Foibe Uahengo

Ms Uahengo obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in 2006. She is currently employed at Rossing Uranium in Arandis.

• Ms Annelie Van Der Hoeven

Ms Van Der Hoeven obtained her Diploma in Nursing Science & Midwifery in 1988 and an MBA in 2004 with Maastricht University in the Netherlands. She is currently employed as Assistant Registrar: Academic Administration at UNAM's Main Campus in Windhoek. She is an automatic member of the Executive Committee by virtue of her position as Assistant Registrar: Academic Administration.

• Mr Edwin Tjiramba

Mr Tjiramba obtained his Bachelors and Masters in Public Relations and Communications from the University of California. He serves as an automatic member o the association as a result of his position as Director for Communications & Marketing at UNAM's Main Campus in Windhoek.

• Mr Alois Fledersbacher

Mr Fledersbacher obtained is Bachelors of Arts in 1989 and MBA at Maastricht University. He is currently employed as Registrar at UNAM's Main Campus in Windhoek. Mr. Fledersbacher is also an automatic member of the Executive Committee by virtue of his position as Registrar of the University.
