OPEN/E-LEARNING UNIT

At the "Vision to Action" workshops held in 1999, the community in the north-central region requested that degree courses be offered at Oshakati Campus of the same caliber and quality as the Windhoek UNAM Campus. To meet this need, videoconferencing equipment was installed at both the campuses in Windhoek and Oshakati, thus enabling the delivery of lectures and tutorials by lecturers in Windhoek to Oshakati Campus.

AIM

The aim of the Open/E-Learning Unit is to provide access to degree courses to the students of Oshakati Campus as needed by the northern communities

WHAT PROGRAMMES DOES THE OPEN/E-LEARNING UNIT OFFER?

While the programmes offered by the Open Learning Unit are expanding to meet the needs of students, they are limited by the ability to link up with classes and lectures in Windhoek. This is currently being done by videoconferencing and in the future by using e-learning tools.
