DEPARTMENT OF MATERIALS DEVELOPMENT AND INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN

Our mission in the Materials Development and Instructional Design Department is to develop high quality distance education materials that are accessible to our distance learners.

After programmes and courses have been identified by the faculties at UNAM, we develop the materials for these programmes and courses by making use of a team approach. This team approach is our quality control measure, because at every stage of the development process mistakes are likely to be picked up. In writing the distance education course materials we apply a conversational writing style, by which the students are addressed directly. Through this, we try to reduce the “distance” between the writer and the student in distance education.
