Short biography

Martha is a daughter of the Namibian soil, born and bred in the Kavango Region, Namibia. She completed High school in November 2000, at Noordgrens Secondary School, in the town of Rundu. Following her admission at the University of Namibia (UNAM), She enrolled for B.Sc.  in 2002, majoring in Biological Sciences.

After obtaining her first degree, she was employed as a Biology teacher at ELCIN Nkurenkuru High School where she worked for about 3 years. She decided to re-visit her interest in mushrooms, sparked during her tertiary studies and joined UNAM staff in June 2010, as an Assistant Research Technologist for ZERI on contract. Her dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed by her supervisors, resulting in her being recommended for the position of Assistant Researcher for Mushrooms at Sam Nujoma Marine & Coastal Resources Centre (SANUMARC), Henties Bay. Martha is now a permanent staff member of UNAM from September, 1st 2011 to date.
