The Writing Excellence Unit, branch of the University of Namibia’s (UNAM) Language Centre; is a free service for all UNAM students to get support with any aspect of their writing, from specific assignments to general writing skills. The Unit is staffed with academics that offer individualised tutorials to the students. It is therefore intended to foster scholarly literacy. Consequently, its services focus on all aspects of the writing process, critical thinking, research techniques, and writing across the curriculum. A Writing Consultant can assist with assignments for a writing class, papers for other classes, or writing that is not for class at all – like job applications and admissions essays.
