Objectives of the Program
The broad objectives of the program are to:
- Undertake and Promote Research and Development (R&D);
- Undertake and promote scientific research in innovation, value-addition and comer-cialization;
- Undertake R&D and commercialization of indigenous technology knowledge systems (ITKS) and promote relevant IKS research;
- Undertake research and promote technology and innovation management;
- Undertake research, promote and implement public-private-partnerships (PPP);
- Undertake research, promote and implement R&D collaboration with SMEs for quality control and import substitution in industry;
- Capacity Building and Postgraduate Research Fellowship Program (PGRF);
- Undertake scientific research, promote and disseminate S&T research outputs;
- Advisory services.

RESEARCH PROGRAMS
INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY AND MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
The general aims of this program are to identify and develop the appropriate processing and production technologies for value-addition of local industries.

RENEWABLE ENERGY ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGIES (RET)
The aims of this program are to identify research and develop renewable energy-powered technologies (RET) and service solutions.

The general aims of this program are to undertake scientific research in ITKS for product development as well as to promote, protect, record and disseminate ITKS and IKS knowledge for preservation and further development.

PHARMACEUTICALS
The general aims of this program are to carried out scientific research on ITKS to identify those with potential for economic benefit to the economy and to further transform these products into the forms and services of standardized and scientifically authenticated quality.
