7. Short Biography (maximum 150 words)	Mr. Akawa is a Laboratory Technologist in the Department since 2010. His work experience includes working for UNOPS\|BCLME-BENEFIT CUFES project under the auspices of the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources where he provided technical assistance during implementation of the first successful CUFES pilot project in 2005/7. Before joining the Department he was in the Department of Biological Sciences from 2007-2009. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Philosophy in Environmental Management through Stellenbosch University.
