Jonas Chigariro has a strong and multi disciplinary academic record. He has more than 18 years of professional experience in Agricultural Engineering in Southern African countries, including Zambia, South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe. His professional experience includes grain handling and processing, operational maintenance of grain milling and oil expression machinery, grain storage and management of the stock, animal draft power technology, research and development in agricultural mechanization, literature development and participatory rural appraisal techniques. He has practical experience in training at various levels.

Consultancy Project:

Providing technical assistance to the National Mahangu and Sorghum Task Team on Post harvest Technologies and crop processing issues.
Conducted Mahangu (Pearl millet) Milling enterpeneurship skills training (May 2008)
Contributing on machinery development (mahangu planter and other animal drawn implements) and appropriate tillage systems on the Conservation Agriculture Task Team under the Namibian Agronomic Board
Providing Technical assistance on animal power technology to the Draught Animal Power Acceleration Programme (DAPAP2) National steering Committee in the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Forestry.
