Dr. Itenge is a Namibian and has been with the University of Namibia since 1999. She has a vast research experience in the fields of Molecular Biology and Molecular Genetics. She is currently teaching Genetics, Biochemistry and coordinates student’s Research Projects in the Department. Dr. Itenge has attended and presented research findings at many international conferences, congresses and summits, including: World Conference on Animal Production, South Africa (2008); The Namibian Business Women Summit, Namibia (2008); CHEMRAWN XII Conference, South Africa (2007); New Zealand Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (NZSBMB) mini Conference, New Zealand, (2007); International Livestock Congress, Texas, USA (2003)

Research interest is mainly in the field of Molecular biology, and includes the identification of genetic markers linked to animal production traits that are of major concern in the Namibian livestock industry.
Topic: Identification of genetic markers associated with sub-lethal factors in grey Karakul sheep.
Other research interest include the sustainable utilization of natural resources.
