(Prof. Luke Kanyomeka is a Zambian with over twenty years of experience in teaching at university level, research, community outreach and administration. He is currently an Associate Professor of Agronomy (Weed Science) and a Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Namibia. He teaches courses in Crop Protection, Weed Science and Agronomy at both undergraduate and post graduate level. He has supervised several student projects at both undergraduate and post graduate level. He has initiated and successfully conducted several research projects in weed management and agronomy. From his research he has published several scientific papers in peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Prof. Kanyomeka has spearheaded national projects that have made significant contribution to the upliftment of people’s livelihood. He is currently leading a team of scientists in introducing rice farming in Namibia. He is also a member of local and international professional bodies.
