7. Short Biography
(maximum 150 words)

Professor Omoregie is a Nigerian with over 20 years university teaching and research experience, which started at the University of Jos in Nigeria. Professor Omoregie joined the services of University of Namibia in February 2008. His main area of specialization is Fisheries and Aquatic Ecotoxicology. He has been actively involved in research and has over 50 scientific publications in several reputed journals worldwide. Equally, he has served as reviewer for several reputed journals: Aquaculture, Aquaculture Research, Aquaculture International and Aquaculture Nutrition. Professor Omoregie has served as Technical Expert on various technical committees of both FAO and UNDP. In 2004, he was awarded the prestigious Indian National Science Academy Fellowship for his contributions to research and development in Aquatic Toxicology. Professor Omoregie has at various times served as External Examiner to several Universities both within and outside Africa. Between 2000 and 2002, he was the National Vice President of the Nigerian Fisheries Society.
