Nangula is a Namibian-born lecturer and researcher with specialization in nutrition and food science. Nangula’s research focus is on the antioxidant properties of African green leafy vegetables and their effects on oxidative DNA damage and general health. She has established herself in this area through publications and presentations at various international conferences in South Africa and the UK. Nangula has also previously been involved in several National and Multi-national funded projects in the field of Nutrition and Food Science.

Professional Development

 

Grant Proposal Writing (6 – 10 Dec 2010) have been selected to attend the workshop on proposal writing for funding organized by the ANLP, to be held in Windhoek, Namibia.

African Nutrition Leadership Programme (Mar 2009) attended the programme aimed at developing future African leaders in Nutrition held in Potchefstroom, South Africa.

Bioactive compounds in plants – benefits and risks for man and animals (Nov 2008) participated in the symposium that took place in Oslo, Norway.

HIV/AIDS and Nutrition (Jul 2004) attended a workshop in Jinja, Uganda.

Integration of HIV/AIDS into Universities Curricula (Jun – Sep 2003) attended a UNDP training programme held in Johannesburg, South Africa.

 

Consultancy Projects:

Food Security and Nutrition Assessment Report of 1999 (Feb - Dec 2005) provided consultancy for updating the report of 1999 to the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Rural Development (MAWRD) and FAO.

Improving the quality and utilisation of low-value fish by processing (June 2004 - June 2005) was a researcher on the European Commission funded project coordinated by the University of Surrey, UK.
