Call for papers

Researchers, Academics and Practitioners are invited to submit papers for presentation at the conference which provides an excellent opportunity for the presentation of high quality research that covers key topics relating to the central theme of Management, Leadership & Entrepreneurship Development.

Members of the academia, researchers, practitioners and specialists from strategic management, principles of management, change management, banking, marketing, branding, leadership, human resources management, IT & ICT applications in global business management, politics, governance, insurance, economics, administration, operations management, real estate management, health sector and hospital management, event management, travel & leisure management, local government, education and related fields will discuss and deliberate on fundamental issues that shape and direct trends, views and innovations relating to global business and the world of commerce, with a view to lay bare the value, benefits and influence of sustainable business practices in their respective areas of specialisation. An array of keynote speakers as well as panel discussions will also provide hands-on, in-depth, practical and up-to-date knowledge on issues relating to Africa’s developmental discourse in the 21st Century.

THE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE CONFERENCE ARE:

 Advancing management & leadership development in Southern Africa
 Fostering a sense of community among researchers in Africa 
 Organising conferences at which the results of management & leadership research can be presented & generated
 Promoting research to improve and develop management & leadership development in response to current and future needs of Africa

The Annual Management & Leadership Conference is an important tool and vehicle to address these aims and objectives.

CONFERENCE PURPOSE

In this conference, we will continue to build strengths in management & leadership research. We also hope to promote interactive, collaborative and applied research in accordance with the current and future management and leadership needs of Africa. While looking for connections across subjects and research areas, we also hope to build on strands of African Management & Thought Leaders for sustainable & generational leadership in Africa, exposing current shortcomings in African Leadership Fora, in view of pursuing renaissance and awakening of New Generation of African Leaders. We, therefore, invite all those in academia, management & leadership practice, local government managers, private & public sector management & leadership, diplomats, politicians & technocrats to attend.

CONFERENCE PARTICIPATION

This conference is open to all individuals, organisations, institutions and NGOs involved and interested in research in Management & Leadership Thought in Africa. New and seasoned researchers are all welcome. Research institutions and research funders are surely encouraged to attend. Updates and further details will be provided as time goes on. CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Submission

The University of Namibia invite academics, postgraduate students, doctoral fellows, public administrators, researchers and business leaders to participate. Participants from Africa and international community are highly welcome and are encouraged to submit abstracts as soon as possible. Proposals for papers in the form of an abstract must be submitted electronically, in standard MS Word format as an attachment, to the Conference Secretariat, Fanuel Dangarembizi at fdangarembizi@unam.na or fanuel2020@yahoo.com
Please include “International Management & Leadership Conference” in the subject field of the email.

 All abstract submissions will be subject to a peer-review process. Abstract submissions should consist of a maximum of 300 words including a minimum of 3 keywords, the author’s personal details and contact information, as well as the type of paper that is going to be submitted.
You may choose to submit one of the following papers:

  • Peer reviewed paper
  • Working paper
  • Student paper

Participants have an opportunity to have their full conference paper also peer reviewed which will allow for fast-tracked publication in the Journal of Economic and Management Sciences (JEM). In that case complete papers for peer review need to be submitted according to deadlines as indicated above for distribution to external reviewers and feedback will be given. Abstracts of all papers to be presented at the conference will be published in the International Management & Leadership 2012 Conference Proceedings booklet which shall be handed out to delegates during the conference.
