Esau Kaakunga is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics. Prior to taking up his position at the University of Namibia, Dr. Kaakunga was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the Polytechnic of Namibia. From June 2001 to June 2006 he served as a Senior Economist in the Research Department, Bank of Namibia. He has been a consultant to international organisations which include African Development Bank, USAID, Institute for Global Dialogue, Electoral Institute of Southern Africa, UNDP, SADC, and African Capacity Building Foundation. Dr. Kaakunga is a member of AERC research network and Poverty Economic Policy network. He has published many papers as working papers, occasional papers and articles in the professional journals.
