7. Short Biography

He is a Senior Lecturer in Economics in the Economics Department of the University of Namibia. He currently holds the position of Deputy Dean in the Faculty of Economics and Management Science. Since he joined the Department of Economics in 1995 he taught specialized courses in Resource and Environmental Economics & Namibian Economy which emphasise general constraints and opportunities faced by developing countries. That is in addition to foundation courses in Economics.

Current research interest entails the enforcement of competition policy within the regional integration framework (SACU and SADC). He has also successfully completed consultancies for the Namibian government, local NGOs and international organizations, mainly in the broad areas of socio-economic impact assessments & environmental evaluation and land management.

He received a PhD Economics from the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague in the Netherlands and holds an MA in Economics from the University of Botswana and BA in Economics & History from the University of Namibia.
