After finishing school I joined Rossing mine as a staff development fellow. With Rossing’s assistance, I completed a B. comm. degree from Rhodes University in 1987 and joined the mine as a Cost Accountant. I left Rossing in May 1988 to join Deloittes as a professional clerk.
In 1991 I joined the Bank of Namibia as an accountant, establishing the finance department. While at the bank, obtained a Diploma in Banking. I left the bank to join the NDC as a Manager, Accounting.
After a short stint I joined Unam as a Bursar. I left Unam in 2000 to join a company in the insurance industry as a Finance Manager. During this period I obtained the MBA qualification.
After a period of about six years in the insurance industry, I moved to the Airports Company as CEO, a position I held until February 2009.
