7. Short Biography
(maximum 150 words)

Dr. F. Engelbrecht is a Namibian with 4 years secondary and 28 years tertiary teaching experience. During this time he has made valuable contributions as lecturer, author of several Study Guides, HOD, external moderator, acting dean, deputy- director of the Bureau for Teaching Development and conducted workshops on a variety of topics for the internal and external community. Until recently he was the chair of the Faculty Curriculum Coordinating Committee and is secretary to the Faculty Postgraduate coordinating Committee. He served also on a national sub-committee of the National Qualifications Authority which established the national professional standards for teachers. His Ph. D. template for programme design is now applied by all Faculties of UNAM. He produced a draft which The Ministry of Education disseminated as “Discipline from within” and was co-designer of the first programme for Namibian ‘Fisheries Inspectors and observers’.
