Ms. C. K. Haihambo Ya-Otto  is a Namibian citizen.  After completion of her secondary school career in Windhoek, Ms. Haihambo joined the then Khomasdal College of Education and obtained a Higher Education Diploma leading to a career that later became a passion: teaching and learning from the youth.  In 1994, she completed a Bachelors of Education (Hons.), from the University of Namibia.  In 1996, she completed the M.Phil. (Special Needs Education) Degree, University of Oslo.  She is currently pursuing doctoral studies through the University of South Africa (UNISA).

Ms. Haihambo is currently a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Educational Psychology and Inclusive Education.  She has done research and consultancies in the areas of Special Needs and Inclusive Education; Gender Issues, HIV and AIDS; Street Children and Other Marginalised Children and Orphans and Vulnerable Children as well as Early Childhood, Care and Development.
Ms. Haihambo has published widely in these areas.
She has served the University and country at various levels.  These include among others having served on the first National Sport Commission; having served on the Council of the Windhoek College of Education; having been the first President of the Namibia Special Olympics Committee; having been Namibia National Representative on the World Forum on Early Childhood Care and Development for two terms; currently serving on the Board of Women Leadership Centre.  At the University, Ms. Haihambo Ya-Otto has coordinated the Gender and Community Development Diploma Programme , the Specialized Postgraduate Diploma in Special Needs Education and serves on HIV and AIDS Steering Committee.

She teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
