    7. Short Biography
    (Narrative, third person, maximum 150 words)    		 Manfred Janik started teaching psychology part time at the UNAM in 2006. He was appointed as full time junior lecturer in the psychology department in 2008. He is currently busy with his PhD, which he wishes to complete by the end of 2010.

    Manfred is also a clinical psychologist. Besides teaching, he also sees a limited number of patients in practice. Manfred is involved in a number of initiatives regarding psychology in Namibia: president of the Psychological Association of Namibia, part of the inspection team for training practices of the Social Work and Psychology Council of Namibia.

    Manfred is well involved in promoting the profession of psychology in Namibia through numerous radio presentations, workshops and articles in local magazines and newspapers.
