    7. Short Biography
    (maximum 150 words)
    Prof. Malaba specialises in Southern African Literature and has published extensively on Shakan, South African, Zimbabwean literature and Namibian poetry. He was awarded a Government Scholarship to study at the (then) University of Rhodesia and granted a Beit Trust Postgraduate Fellowship to study at the University of York’s Centre for Southern African Studies. He was also awarded a York Scholarship for Overseas Students. In 1992 – 1993, he was granted a Fulbright African Senior Research Fellowship and in 1994, he was a Fellow at the Salzburg Seminar on Films. He has served as an External Examiner at the University of Swaziland twice and at Africa University, in Zimbabwe. He is the External Moderator for the B.A. Honours programme at the Polytechnic of Namibia. He also served as the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Zimbabwe and as the Senior Proctor.
