    Dr Mwilima is a Namibia with over nine years lecturing experience. He is a lecturer who offers writing courses in print journalism as well as in health communication. Dr. Mwilima is an accredited training of trainer in print journalism. He is a former news editor in print journalism.  A former student of Johns Hopkins University, USA, in strategic health communication who has also conducted consultancy work in this field with UN agencies in Namibia, Ministry of Information and Technology, Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare and the Johns Hopkins University branch in Namibia, now known as Nawa. Dr. Mwilima has also been actively involved in the development of UNESCO’s model curriculum for journalism education for developing countries and emerging democracies since 2000.

    Consultancy Project:

    Together with a team from the Multidisciplinary Research Centre (MRC) of the University of Namibia, I conducted a research on National Campaign on Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) in seven of Namibia’s political regions. This research was funded by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and completed in August 2008.

    Served as a Chief Adjudicator of MISA 2008 Namibia Journalism Award and has been an adjudicator of media awards for the past three year.

    Served as a Chief Adjudicator of SADC Media Awards for the past five years.

    Developed a Communication Strategy for OVC in Namibia; this work which was done through Unam consultancy bureau and funded by UNICEF was completed in October 2008.

    Produced three Fact sheets on OVC, gender and the media & gender and economic empowerment for the Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare. This work was funded by the said ministry and completed in January 2009.

    Developed a study guide on Strategic Health Communication for the Centre for External Studies, University of Namibia. Completed in March 2008. 

    Co-facilitator: Workshop on Monitoring and Evaluation organised by the Department of Information and Communication Studies in June 2008.
