Mr. Francois – X. Bangamwabo did his LL.B at the University of Zimbabwe and his LL.M at the National University of Ireland – Galway. He is a registered legal practitioner in Zimbabwe where he practiced law for four years before moving to Ireland to pursue his studies in 2005. After completing his LL.M, he briefly worked as a Project officer for the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, in Zimbabwe, before being appointed law lecturer at the University of Namibia in 2007. He is now the Acting Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law and he lectures law of contract, public international law, and law of evidence. He is also the Co-ordinator of Refugee & Humanitarian Law Project within the Faculty of Law.
Mr. Bangamwabo has published in the fields of human rights law and public international law. He provides consultancy services to the SADC Tribunal and the Legal Assistance Centre in Windhoek – Namibia. He speaks fluently both English and French and thus provides translation and interpretation services.
Mr. Bangamwabo is currently a Ph.D. candidate with the National University of Ireland – Galway. His field of research is international criminal justice. |

In addition to his academic activities, Mr. Francois – Xavier Bangamwabo seats at various management committees both at Faculty and University level. He is currently the Acting Deputy Dean for the academic year 2009. At the behest of Dean of Students’ Office, He chairs disciplinary hearings involving misconducts by students. He is actively involved in Moot Court Competitions (internal & external). In addition to the above, he supervises LL.B dissertations. He also seats on the editorial board of the Namibian Development Journal since 2009.
Mr. Francois – X. Bangamwabo has presented many papers at conferences and workshops, in particular in the field of public international law, regional integration, and human rights law. |
