Born in 1946 in Gunzenhausen, Germany, I studied mathematics from 1965 until 1981 at the University of Wurzburg and completed my studies with habilitation. In the years 1981-1984, I was a lecturer at the University of Wurzburg. In 1985, I left Germany for South Africa where I was teaching at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. Since 1987, I am a lecturer at the University of Namibia in Windhoek.
