Short Biography

I obtained my BSc at the University of Namibia, majoring in Zoology and Botany. Then I did my BSc (Hons.) in Fisheries Science and Resource management at the department for Ichthyology at Rhodes University in Grahamstown. I then obtained a MSc in Environmental Sanitation, focusing on wastewater treatment at the University of Ghent in Belgium. My MSc thesis dealt with removal of ammonium from textile wastewater and the reduction of sludge in produced in sewage treatment plants.  After that I completed a PGDE at UNAM. My PhD was in Marine Ecology with the emphasis on marine microbial ecology. My PhD thesis dealt with organic carbon mineralization in marine sediments off the continental shelf of Namibia.
