Dr MITONGA KABWEBWE Honoré is a Lecturer at the Faculty of Health Sciences, School of Medicine at University of Namibia. His educational background includes BSc of Statistics (Hons), Master Degree in Public Health and a holder of PhD in Public health obtained from the University of Lubumbashi (D.R.C).
Dr MITONGA KABWEBWE Honoré has worked in various non-academic and academic positions where he gained enough experience in implementation of Public Health projects, Monitoring, Evaluation and research. Particularly he worked as the Director of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation of AMO CONGO an NGO in Democratic Republic of Congo recipients of funding from USAID, Global Fund/UNDP, UNICEF, World Bank/MAP, DFID, Christian AIDS etc.
With a strong theoretical background in statistics, Bio Statistics, Applied Statistics, Mathematical statistic, Econometrics, Quantitative methods, Operations Research (linear programming, graphs theory, Mathematical Queuing theory …), Demography, Epidemiology, Public Health and Development, Health Economics, Health Management, Projects analysis, planning, monitoring and evaluation, Statistics’ software e.g. Epiinfo, SPSS, SAS, STAT VIEW, DAD for poverty measures, etc..., as well as practical experiences both in academic and non-academic setting.
Professor Shyam Singh obtained his PhD in 1982 in holography. He has been working in the field of holography, laser induced fluorescence, laser applications and applied optics for last 34 years. He was one of the first candidates who got Junior Scientific award from DST, Government of India in 1985. He was the regular associate of ICTP and is currently a member of several societies and institutions.
He has written a number of study guides in mechanics, optics, electromagnetism and modern physics. He is also a coauthor of a book on Open and Distance Education Systems (ODES). He has published about 50 research papers in journals and has presented many papers in international conferences.
Since 1987, he has been working in Africa. He is one of the Board-Directors of the African Laser Centre. He was the founder president of the Science Promoting Society of Zambia. He has organized several workshops and conferences at national and international level. Currently, he is an academic member in the Physics Department of the University of Namibia since 1999.
