The Office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Research is responsible for the management of research and publications at UNAM. Under this Office, the responsibility of coordinating research and publications is vested in the Research & Publications Office (RPO) headed by a Research Coordinator whose overall responsibility is to administer and coordinate research at the University. In discharging its duties, the RPO is guided by various UNAM and national documents including the Institutional Research Strategy, UNAM’s Five Year Strategic Plan: Research Strategies of Faculties/Centers, and Namibia’s Vision 2030. The RPO is also responsible for administering internal funding grants and ensures research quality assurance. Through the Research & Publications Committee, the RPO supports research planning and research policy implementation at the University. In addition, the RPO contributes to academic staff development through a series of targeted interventions to enhance research capacity. The Office facilitates and supports other research activities that may arise from strategic partnerships and formal agreements with various research and academic institutions within and outside Namibia.
