The Southern African Student Union Summit (SASUS) is for the first time hosted by the University Of Namibia Student Representative Council (SRC) 2011 through the Namibia National Student Organization (NANSO) with the help of many other local Institutions and the Southern African Student Union (SASU) from the 05th to the 08th December 2011.

The Summit will serve as a platform for students and student leaders from all SADC member statesto associate in a corporative environment and find productive solutions to challenges; this platform is aimed at reviving Southern African Student Union and strengthening the Students unions as well as asses political and social challenges that face students within SADC Region.

Further, the Summit aimed at cross-fertilization and absorption of ideas and opinions relevant to our common ideological convictions. The common perspective includes the broad world view on aspects of student leadership and the role of government in guiding, directing and facilitating the student leadership bodies as future leaders.

Speakers of this magnitude event will be coming from different Countries of SADC as well as delegates.

The University of Namibia and the co-hosts will provide accommodation, meals and transport from the airport and to the airport for 600 participants expected to attend this summit in Windhoek the capital city of Namibia from the 4th to 9th December 2011.

The organization of this summit is being executed by a core team of very committed young people from the University of Namibia, local institutions, Namibia National Student Organization as well as the support of the Southern African Student Union and progressive student leaders from various Countries of SADC. 

This will become an annual event to be hosted by different Countries in order to strengthen our relations through education for sustainable development in SADC.

In conclusion, apart the Southern African Student Union Summit the participants will have an opportunity to meet prominent SADC leaders and discover the beauty of the land of the brave Namibia.
